Christmas & New Year Holiday Period

We know Christmas is a time when many families take a break, but we also know that not every family has time off over the Christmas period and some of our tamariki still need care. For this reason, Old Mac’s remains open for families who need us (excluding weekends and public holidays as usual).

To give our kaiako a well-deserved break while still providing care for those who need it, we’ll operate a little differently over the Christmas period which is Monday, 28th December 2026 to Friday, 8th January 2027:

• Opening hours are 8am–4pm

• A small team of kaiako

• All tamariki together in one learning environment

• Families must provide a lunchbox 

• Normal meals and operating hours will resume from Monday, 11th January 2027

Please note: we will also be operating on reduced hours (8am-4pm) on Christmas Eve (Thursday, 24th December).

Please complete the survey by Friday, 6th November

We need to know your plans by the 6th November so we can confirm our holiday staffing and approve kaiako leave.

If we don’t receive your form by the deadline, we won’t be able to guarantee a place for your child during the Christmas period. This is simply because we need to plan our small team around the number of tamariki requiring care.

Christmas fees

If your child does not attend between 28th of December and 8th January, we offer a 100% fee discount for this period, provided you have not already used this discount earlier in the year.

If your child does attend, normal fees will apply, with a 50% discount on public holidays.

Please complete the survey as soon as you can, even if your child will not be attending. This helps us plan our staffing and spaces for the holiday period.
